How should we check for arterial elasticity and stiffness?

Cardiology

In this video, Dr. RR Kasliwal, Chairman - Clinical & Preventive Cardiology, Medanta - the Medicity, will talk on arterial elasticity and stiffness in this video. He tells us that by echocardiography the arterial elasticity and stiffness is checked. Also, he will talk on pulse wave velocity as it is the marker of arterial stiffness. It should be less than 12 meters/sec and if it is more than that it is termed as arterial stiffness. The importance of this test is to detect the arteries are growing thicker and blocked by fatty substances.
