This video is based on Acute abdominal pain and a case of a person is described who is 43 years old and was brought in emergency to the doctor as he was having severe onset of pain from last 2 hours. On further examination it was known that he had similar pain a year back also and at that time it was diagnosed as kidney stone. So now, the doctor re-investigated his case followed by an ultrasound KUB to find out the exact reason of pain which came out to be renal colic pain. Medicines were given to treat the patient and they worked so well that the pain was gone and the patient did not require any further follow up with doctor. The stone came out through urine and patient was completely fine after that. In the later part of the video, components of colic pain were discussed, its relief strategy and how NSAID served as an important step in the treatment of patient with renal colic pain.

Dr. Ajay Kumar is a Chairman and HOD - Institute for Digestive and Liver Diseases at BLK Super Speciality Hospital, New Delhi. He completed MBBS from Punjab University, Chandigarh in 1980, MD - Medicine from Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh in 1984 and DM - Gastroenterology from the University of Delhi in 1987. Dr. Ajay has been awarded BC Roy Award from the President of India. He is an experienced clinician with a special interest in Pancreatico Biliary Disease, Luminal Gastroenterology and advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy. Dr. Ajay Kumar has more than forty publications in the national and international journals and more than 20 papers presented at Conference. He has contributed 17 Book Chapters. Before joining Fortis Hospital, Dr. Ajay Kumar has served in Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, G B Pant Hospital and other prestigious institutes.
