COURSE CURRICULUM
This CME on Preventing Diabetic Amputations: The Role of Physicians is a birds eye view on various aspects of management of diabetic foot, including screening techniques to identify at-risk foot, wound dressings, antibiotic regimens to treat diabetic foot infections and initiatives to manage the diabetic foot burden. Diabetic foot ulcer is a common complication of diabetes. A much dreaded outcome of diabetic foot ulcer is amputation. Diabetes is the most common cause of non traumatic amputation. It is important that physicians are able to identify the at-risk foot and take timely corrective measures to prevent amputation.

First Vivian Fonseca Award from the American Diabetes Association for work in DM and TB in 2013. Trained over 2000 physicians in Prevention of Amputations. Appointed Adjunct Professor by Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University. Awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians London for Research Contribution in Diabetes. Credited with about 150 research publications on various aspects of diabetes and its complications in peer-reviewed national and international scientific journals and has also contributed about 15 book chapters.
