This CME on Preventing Diabetic Amputations: The Role of Physicians is a birds eye view on various aspects of management of diabetic foot, including screening techniques to identify at-risk foot, wound dressings, antibiotic regimens to treat diabetic foot infections and initiatives to manage the diabetic foot burden. Diabetic foot ulcer is a common complication of diabetes. A much dreaded outcome of diabetic foot ulcer is amputation. Diabetes is the most common cause of non traumatic amputation. It is important that physicians are able to identify the at-risk foot and take timely corrective measures to prevent amputation.
