Can we target glucagon in Type 2 Diabetes Management
Glucagon is the key hormone, counter-regulating the action of insulin. Type 2 diabetes mellitus is characterized by inappropriate regulation of hepatic glucose production, which may result from an imbalance in the relationship between insulin and glucagon. Can glucagon action be targeted as a possible therapeutic pathway to treat type 2 diabetes?
