What is New in the Diagnosis and Management of Tuberculosis?

Overview

The World Health Organization's End-TB Strategy aims to eliminate TB globally by improving diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, promoting preventative interventions, increasing government commitment and higher funding, and intensifying research and innovation. Multidrug-resistant strains are a major worry that may impede future aims. Primary healthcare practitioners must be familiar with TB diagnosis and care to ensure early case detection and rapid referral for treatment and follow-up.
